To further focus on the directions of the University in 2021 to 2024, the CvSU Administrative Council convened for the first part of the strategic planning workshop series on 4 February via Cisco Webex.
Dr. Hernando D. Robles, in his opening remarks, thanked the council and the CvSU community for the support and said that “although we did not go as fast as we wanted, we seriously worked hard” to accomplish most of the targets included in the first half of the seven-year strategic plan. With the Taal volcano eruption and the COVID19 pandemic, he encouraged the active involvement of the workshop participants in order to formulate strategies to fully adapt to the new normal and to continue to transform the institution into a proactive and responsive Research University.
Brainstorming sessions were conducted on the following topics led by the respective discussant:
|Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC), AACCUP Accreditation, Center of Excellence, and Center of Development||Dr. Adolfo C. Manuel Jr.|
|Infrastructure Development||Engr. Orlando B. Delos Reyes|
|Research University||Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac|
|SMART University||Dr. Camilo A. Polinga|
|EduTourism||Dr. Ammie P. Ferrer|

Cero, VP for Planning and Development, laid out the mechanics of the workshop series and explained that the first part will be for the macro-level review and planning, part two will be for college/campus/unit planning, and part three will be for the presentation of the consolidated strategic plan and operational plan for FY 2021. She also stressed that addressing the major points in the strategic plan will also facilitate SUC-levelling and QS Ranking requirements. Engr. Orlando B. Delos Reyes, Director for Planning, moderated the event.
